How can I be more confident in school?

Question by : How can I be more confident in school?
I’m not shy with most people, only my classmates. I don’t have any good friends in school but at lunch I hang out with ‘school-friends’ who I hardly even talk to during class and after school. My classmates think I have social disorder or something, but I only am shy around them. I can never think of anything to say and am never interested in the things they are. Any suggestions?

Question by Nerdy Hipster: How can I be more confident and assertive without being a jerk?
I am a shy, introverted guy who has trouble standing up for himself and showing some confidence in my life and I’m tired of letting people take advantage of me because I am a nice guy and think they can get away with it because I won’t say or do anything. I am in need of help becoming more confident and assertive in my life, how do I do it without becoming a jerk and alienating people from wanting be around me?

they are 3 types:

1. passive:
asking for something/doing something you want with out over apologising or showing you feel bad (i.e. “im really sorry to ask but please can i have my CD back now please? if you don’t mind?”).

2. assertive:
being confidant but not in an aggressive way (i.e. I would like my CD back now please).

3. aggressive:
saying or doing something in an aggressive manner (i.e. Give me my f’ing CD back now!!!!)

Do the middle one and you will be fine xxx
